Featuring chapters on twenty-four essential works of art and the artists who created them, Lumen volume two takes teachers and students (and art lovers of all kinds) on a journey through art history, from ancient times to modern days.
Tethered by the element of space, some of the artworks featured in this volume include essential works by the likes of Raphael, Caravaggio, Hiroshige, Hopper, Grandma Moses, among many others, alongside chapters about ancient cave paintings, Roman frescoes, and examples of Gothic architecture.
Note: While the book alone is adequate if it's being used by an individual, Lumen is designed to be accompanied by the art prints. The prints can be displayed in the home or classroom, and they allow students to see the works of art more clearly as they study and make comparisons between them. We do recommend that, if Lumen is being used in a larger classroom or co-op setting, each family has their own set of prints so the student can spend more attentive time with the works.
You do NOT need to have completed volume one on the element of line to go through volume two on space!
